| Giant Halloween Spider | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The spider was originally built as a 50' robotic octopus for
LiteBrite Camp at
Burning Man 2002
but when Halloween rolled around I realized it could be easily transformed
into a giant scary spider. A couple of days, some black hairy fabric and
a little sewing help from my wife Rebecca (in the picture) and boy was he menacing!
The kids had to walk underneath the black hairy legs to get their candy, and I could press a button and make him move when they were under them. I had the controller up where the kids got their candy so they could make him move to scare the next batch. He was a hit!
